The similarities between the collapse of the Twin Towers on 9/11 and the burning of Notre Dame Cathedral reveal how the prophetic destinies of the United States and France are linked.
Introduction
Today’s study was supposed to be on the time prophecies in Daniel Chapter 12. I’m actually going to take the liberty to interrupt our Daniel series for the second time, again related to the burning of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris a few weeks ago.
I stated in my first podcast on the burning of Notre Dame that this event had great prophetic significance. A few months ago the Lord had already opened my eyes to the many prophetic connections between the United States and France. I share some of those insights in two podcasts called “Prophecy Update Part 1: Imminent Healing of Anti-christ’s Wound” and “Prophecy Update Part 2: Looming US Revolution and Collapse”. I encourage you to listen to those if you haven’t yet.
I published my first podcast on Notre Dame Cathedral barely a couple of days after the fire. Since then I’ve continued to dig deeper into that story and its prophetic significance.
Last week I spoke at Batallas de Fé in Puerto Rico, an evangelistic conference featuring Adventist present truth speakers. I presented my analysis of the prophetic implications of what’s been happening in France over the past few months and how that sheds light on what’s happening and what’s to come in America. This is extremely important information that I want to share with you as well. My presentation at Batallas de Fé was in Spanish only with no translation, so here it is for you in today’s English podcast.
(For those of you who speak Spanish, here’s the link to the video. Shortly I’ll make the slides available on the website.
It’s impossible to understand the role of the United States in Bible Prophecy without considering how it relates to two other key players: France and the Vatican. Remember that the Vatican is a small nation state that sits in Italy but is completely sovereign and independent of Italy.
In many ways the US and France are sister countries. Today we’re going to examine that relationship more closely and the many similarities between the US and France.
However, before we start exploring the history of France, Rome and the US, we’ll first get some grounding on four Bible principles that we should apply or at least consider when analyzing prophecy, history and current events.
Four Bible Principles that Illumine the Study of Prophecy, History and Current Events
Bible Principle #1: Prophecy is history written in advance
Adventists use a method of prophetic interpretation called historicism. This method is based on the fact that history, like time, is sequential. There are no jumps forward or backward, no gaps, but history unfolds in an uninterrupted flow of events.
Because God knew the end from the beginning, Jesus said to the disciples: “I tell you these things before they come to pass so that when they come to pass you may believe” (John 13:19, 14:29 and 16:4). If Jesus says it three times, this principle is really important!
Another advantage for us of this principle is that we can look to history to verify and confirm the fulfillment of prophecy. We can also look to how certain prophecies were fulfilled in the past to shed light on how future prophecies might be fulfilled.
Bible Principle #2: History repeats itself
The Bible principle that history repeats itself is stated by King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 1:9: “That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun”.
By understanding and using this Bible principle we’re able to look for patterns in history. Events unfold in a certain sequence, following a certain pattern, in a certain relationship. By discerning the patterns of past events or sequences of events we’re able to extrapolate how future prophecies might be fulfilled. Given that history repeats itself, future prophetic fulfillments are likely, even sure, to follow the same pattern of past history.
This principle is hugely valuable to students of Bible prophecy, because sometimes a prophecy is given at a high level without much detail. The study of history helps to flesh out the details.
Bible Principle #3: “In the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established”.
This principle is such a pillar of God’s kingdom that its earthly application is a mirror of the heavenly reality. Let’s read in 1 John 5:7-8: “7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one”.
This unity or agreement between witnesses causes the thing that is said or done in agreement to be established as a heavenly or an earthly reality, and sometimes both. Let’s look at some examples:
- The very word of God is written in two books, Old Testament and New Testament. Not a coincidence. Each of these is a witness that testifies of Jesus and the Plan of Salvation for mankind.
- In the Jewish law any accusation had to be based on at least two witnesses or there accusation wasn’t valid.
Jesus reaffirmed this Bible principle in several ways in the New Testament.
- He used it to teach God’s people how to deal with conflicts in the church, which is explained in Matthew
- In evangelism, Jesus sent the disciples two by two.
- In Acts 11, Peter receives the instruction to take the gospel to the Gentiles. Why was that necessary, when the Lord had already anointed Paul to be His ambassador to the Gentiles? It was necessary that this Bible principle be applied. Otherwise, the gospel could not have been established in Antioch, the first Christian city.
Today we’re going to see how the principle of two or three witnesses plays a role in the prophetic relationship between France and the US.
Bible Principle #4: Symmetry and Parallelism
This principle might sound a bit more complicated. Let’s define these two terms:
- Symmetry: the quality of being made up of exactly similar parts facing each other or around an axis; similarity or exact correspondence between different things.
- Parallelism: artistic or literary figure that consists in repeating a same structure or pattern several times, while altering one of the elements
It probably sounds a bit complicated, but as soon as I give you some examples you’ll see how easy this concept is. Let’s take a look at some biblical examples of symmetry and parallelism.
Genesis: in the beginning God makes man in His image and likeness | Revelation: at the end Satan makes an image to the beast |
Genesis: the world starts with an obedience test: “You shall not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” | Revelation: the world ends with an obedience test: “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation”. |
First Adam – Eden Lost | Second Adam, Christ – Eden Restored |
Matthew 24: Destruction of Jerusalem | Matthew 24: End of the world |
Jesus’ First Coming: Jews misinterpreted the prophecies, rejected Messiah | Jesus’ Second Coming: Christians misinterpret the prophecies, worship a counterfeit Messiah |
Literal Babylon, Literal Jerusalem, Literal Israel | Spiritual Babylon, Spiritual Jerusalem, Spiritual Israel |
These examples illustrate the principle of symmetry and parallelism really well. We’ll see in our study today how, by applying this principle to past history, it helps us to better understand how end time prophecies are being and will be fulfilled.
These biblical principles give us a grounding and a methodology with which to analyze end time events. We’re now ready to enter fully into our study of the prophetic relationship between the US and France. We’ll do that using the recent tragedy at Notre Dame as our starting point.
Burning of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris
In my previous podcast on the topic of Notre Dame, which I recorded the very next day after the fire, I did a quick analysis of the building, the circumstances and the timing of the event. I’m going to repeat just a little bit of that here to make sure we’re all on the same page, but today we’re going to go a lot deeper than we did before.
Let me recap quickly the points that are most relevant for our study today:
- Notre Dame Cathedral is considered a jewel of French architecture, art and history.
- It sits on a very strategic location in the heart of Paris, on a small island in the middle of the Seine River which runs through the very center of the city.
- In front of the main entrance there’s a square on the ground which says “Point Zero of French Roads”.
- Notre Dame was built on an ancient pagan worship site, like many European cathedrals were as well. In the case of Notre Dame the site used to be dedicated to the Roman god Jupiter.
- The cathedral architecture is incredibly beautiful, especially when illuminated at night. It’s a very distinctive element of the Paris skyline.
- There was renovation work of the roof that had been underway for a few weeks. The fire started on the roof and/or scaffolding and spread very quickly. Observers and commentators can’t understand how the flames could’ve spread so quickly to the thick wood used, very dense and robust oak. Today’s wood is like matchsticks compared to that old oak that was 900 years old.
- The most dramatic moment was when the cathedral spire burst into flames. It quickly began to crumble until the whole burning mess collapsed into the interior of the building.
- There was significant damage to the building and some of the art pieces inside.
- Fortunately, the cathedral was closed so no visitors were hurt. The city was jammed with traffic and pedestrians, seeing that the fire started as most Parisians were traveling home from work. That’s also the time of day when tourists gather in central places to go on their evening activities.
- The tragedy provoked huge emotion in the crowd. As soon as people saw the fire the word spread quickly and the area was overflowing with onlookers. There were tears and some cries of horror when the spire collapsed. But the main reaction was a stunned silence and incredulity, a hushed disbelief that this untouchable building had been touched. Crowds of devout Catholics gathered after dark to pray and sing hymns and console one another.
- This unexpected event is considered a great tragedy by the French people. The nation is in shock and still mourning.
Let’s try to understand all of the components of the drama and the emotion. This will help us in our prophetic analysis.
Components of the Drama and Emotion of the Notre Dame Fire
- Let’s do a quick review of the reasons why this building means so much to the French people:
- Most important monument of the French cultural and historic heritage. Receives 12M visitors each year, more than the Eiffel Tower.
- Crown jewel of medieval gothic architecture, filled with works of art and valuable relics.
- Repository of French history. All French kings were crowned in Notre Dame. Napoleon Bonaparte was also crowned in Notre Dame.
- Part of the everyday life of many Parisians and French families.
- Religious building, symbolic of the Roman Catholic Church.
- This is an iconic building, an emblem of Paris and France as well as of the Catholic Church.
The religious nature of the building immediately lets us know this is no ordinary fire.
Timing of the Fire at Notre Dame Cathedral
- This event was designed and orchestrated to capture the attention of all France and all the world.
- Unexpected and dramatic event
- Week day, peak traffic
- That evening President Macron had scheduled a televised address to the nation. The broadcast was postponed so that the President could render himself to l’Ile de la Cité with his wife and escorts.
- It wasn’t just any week night. It was the beginning of Holy Week, one of the high holy days of the Catholic Church
- The fire at Notre Dame followed a sequence of vandalizations and desecrations of French churches and cathedrals that started early this year.
- Finally, the burning of Notre Dame occurs at a time when the French nation is going through a revolutionary process started by the popular insurrection of the Yellow Vests.
The entire world was to know what happened at Notre Dame. The postponement of the presidential address added to the climate of crisis. His message most likely was related to the Yellow Vests movement. In this climate of turmoil, the attack against the beloved cathedral, preceded by other attacks as we described, has made French Catholics feel that their faith is under attack.
Clearly, the mystery of the burning of Notre Dame is a clue to a bigger mystery. It’s a harbinger of things to come. Let’s now turn our attention to history to decipher the codes and begin to understand what this event means for France, the US and the world.
Historical Roots that Explain the Present
The definition of a paradox is an apparent contradiction. There’s a great paradox in the history of France.
France was called “the Eldest Daughter of the Church”. During the Middle Ages, two key French rulers contributed greatly to the ascension of the pope to the position of undisputed political leader in Europe.
King Clovis, King of the Francs, waged many wars to unite most of the territories of what is known today as France, and even extended a bit beyond, into what are currently northern Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium. Many consider that at his baptism in 508 France became a Catholic kingdom.
Charlemagne of France, in English called Charles the Great, became a powerful European emperor. He had the vision of uniting all of the Germanic peoples with France under the Christian banner, and waged ruthless wars against them for three decades. He ultimately achieved his goal and ruled over a most of Western Europe. Therefore Charlemagne has come to be known as the Father of Europe.
In addition to uniting a large territory under Catholicism, Charlemagne was also a great supporter and defender of the Pope. He was a zealous defender of Christianity. Charlemagne gave money and land to the Christian church and protected the popes. As a way to acknowledge Charlemagne’s power and reinforce his relationship with the church, Pope Leo III crowned Charlemagne emperor of the Romans in the year 800, at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
The political and military strategies and interventions of King Clovis and Emperor Charlemagne increased the pope’s temporal power. The pope’s dominion was established gradually over the course of many centuries during the Dark Ages, until he became the sovereign ruler over the national monarchies. There was often tension between the papal monarchy and the European monarchies because of the popes’ tyranny and demands.
In 1798, French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte had his army march against Rome. General Berthier captured the pope and took him prisoner. This was the fatal wound by the sword that we read about in Revelation 13:3: “And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed”. The mortal wound ended the pope’s temporal or worldly power. This had been prophesied in Revelation 13:10: “He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword”.
So the French paradox is that the same nation that elevated the papacy to the rank of sovereign ruler over all European kings is the same nation that toppled the papacy’s throne. I submit to you that, in perfect symmetry, at the very end of time France will once again play a key role in the evolution of the papacy. France will somehow contribute to helping the deadly wound to heal and restoring the pope’s worldly or political power.
The US and the French Revolutions
The US and France were both engaged in their respective revolutionary processes toward the end of the 18th. Century. We find several important common elements in these two revolutions.
The US and France had two common enemies: the papacy and their national monarchy, the king and queen of England and the king and queen of France.
They were both fighting oppression and tyranny that expressed itself through high taxes on the people and lack of civil and religious freedom. Both nations aspired to be governed by just rulers according to the principles of liberty, equality and fraternity: a government by the people and for the people.
In America, the war was a war of independence. The US colonies were barely emerging on the world scene but held great promise of liberty and prosperity. They’d taken on one of the world’s global powers of that time, the British Empire. The founding fathers and the pilgrims who migrated to America were fleeing from papal persecution. They encoded into the US Constitution the basic rights and freedoms of citizens living in a free country.
In France, the revolution was cruel and bloody. The people had had it with the papal and national taxes and other unjust impositions. They worked hard and were exploited by the king and lords, who in turn were required to pay high tributes to the pope for his blessing and protection. The French people suffered great lack and were often stricken by illnesses and disease. When the time bomb exploded, the blood ran through the streets of Paris and France. Roughly 50 000 people were killed or guillotined in the struggles that ensued.
In these two nations, the US and France, we see the Bible principle of two witnesses. Together they put to death the old European regime of the papal monarchy as supreme ruler and the national monarchies subjected to the papal rule. Together the US and France gave birth to the new world order of the constitutional republic, governed by elected officers who rule according to the established laws and constitutional. Both nations embedded in their laws and constitution the total, radical separation of church and state, to preempt any future persecution by the church. The constitutional republic was established because there were two witnesses standing in agreement.
The constitutional republic has been the model of governance since the late 18th century. Since then it spread to the entire world. Most countries today apply that model of governance. After roughly 230 years or so, the governance model of the constitutional republic is about to collapse. It will be replaced by the new world order with the pope seated in the throne of single world leader, heading up both church and state. The pope will recover all of his previous power, and will gain more power. His dominion will extend beyond Europe to cover the entire earth.
The French Revolution and the Yellow Vests
History is repeating itself in France, just as it will repeat itself in the US.
There’s a popular insurrection going on in France right now, led by the Yellow Vests. This is a popular movement that brings together all classes, races, ages, professions, and political inclinations. As in the French Revolution of 1789, the Yellow Vest movement started as a result of the French President’s attempt to impose a new fuel tax of 23% in order to support the pope’s environmental strategy.
(You may recall the pope’s Laudato Si encyclical published in 2015 and presented to the UN during his visit to New York).
The proposed tax aroused the people’s fury. They are overburdened with high taxes and the carbon tax was the last straw. The people took to the streets every weekend. The riots have increased in intensity. As in the first revolution, the people are expressing their hatred of the President and the current order.
Interesting also that in both cases sacred objects have been burned. In the 18th century they burned Bibles, in 2019 it was Notre Dame Cathedral that was burned. Do you see how even in the smallest details the Lord is speaking to us, saying “Wake up and pay attention – there’s something here for you to understand”.
History will repeat itself even in this: where the original French revolution gave birth to the new constitutional republic mode of government, in our generation the Yellow Vests revolution will give birth to the new world order. In perfect parallelism, in the 18th century the pope received a deadly wound and his temporal power was taken away. In our generation the French will help to heal the papacy’s deadly wound and will contribute to the restoration of the pope’s world supremacy.
The Symmetry and Parallels between 9/11 and Notre Dame
If you’ve seen pictures of Notre Dame Cathedral’s front entrance, you may have noticed that the structure has two towers. This is yet one more clue to help us decipher the prophetic meaning of the burning of the cathedral. There was another famous structure in the United States having two towers that also suffered a catastrophic event.
The Twin Towers in New York collapsed on September 11, 2001, each after being struck by an airplane. Once again the Lord is showing us the symmetry and parallels between the two events, which are reflective of the symmetry and parallels between the prophetic destiny of France and the US. The correspondence between the two events is a confirmation of the prophetic correspondence between the two nations.
Let’s look at some glaring similarities between the collapse of the Twin Towers and the burning of Notre Dame:
- As we already mentioned, both structures have two towers.
- In both cases we see an airplane in the sky very close to the buildings. There’s video and photographic evidence of a plane flying very close to Notre Dame a couple of hours before the cathedral roof burst into flames.
- Both structures were iconic buildings, emblematic of their countries. The Twin Towers represented the financial, economic and military supremacy of the United States. Notre Dame represented the cultural, historic and religious heritage of the French people.
- Both events are considered dramatic conflagrations, great national tragedies that shook and even traumatized the people.
- I mentioned earlier that in front of Notre Dame is the “Ground Zero” of the French road system – all French roads are said to pass through the center which is Notre Dame. As you know, the land where the Twin Towers stood came to be called “Ground Zero”.
- In both cases the respective national leaders, without seeking to understand the meaning of the catastrophe, immediately announced “We shall rebuild”.
- I don’t have enough time today to present the evidence for what I’m about to say, but I believe that both events were orchestrated by the governing powers.
- Both 9/11 and Notre Dame on fire constitute a major historical milestone. In the United States, people speak about “Before 9/11” and “After 9/11”. There’s a before and after. 9/11 introduced draconian national security measures in preparation for the establishment of the new world order. I can confidently affirm, by the principle of symmetry, that the same will happen in France. The government and the media are already saying that their national security is weak and needs to be enforced. We all know where that’s going! The French will also be able to speak of a “Before Notre Dame” and “After Notre Dame”. Both catastrophes serve to usher in a new world era. We’ll come back to this point shortly.
Our analysis of the prophetic relationship between the US and France has given us enough biblical and historical grounding to be able to deduce seven prophetic implications. You’ll see how close we are to Jesus’ return and the end of all things.
Seven Prophetic Implications
Prophetic Implication #1:
The burning of Notre Dame is a second witness that comes into agreement with the destruction of the Twin Towers to establish the New World Order.
Remember, the Bible principle says: “In the mouth of two or three witnesses, every word shall be established”. In the same way that the establishment of the new governance model of the 18th century, the constitutional republic, required two witnesses, the US and France, so the establishment of the New World Order requires two witnesses. In perfect historical symmetry, the two witnesses are the same: the US and France.
We’re going to see the powers that be move forward quickly to establish the New World Order. Things will now speed up. Someone fired the shot that the runners were waiting for to take off at the start of the race.
Prophetic Implication #2:
In the Bible, we read the account of the building of the Tower of Babel which was led by Nimrod. Listen to how the Bible describes the state of mind of the builders: “And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth” (Genesis 11:4). Towers represent human pride, something that’s lifted up against God.
The collapse of the Twin Towers by the hand of Satan symbolizes his taking of the earthly scepter of power. Remember that the Towers represented world dominion and secular power. In this act of war Satan was lifting himself up against God, and trying to wrest from Him the scepter of world power.
On the other hand, the second witness, Notre Dame, represents the scepter of religious power, spiritual power. Satan, in another bold move, took hold of the spiritual scepter of power. If you listened to my first analysis of the burning of Notre Dame Cathedral you heard me say that this building appears to be a sacred building dedicated to the God of heaven. Instead, it’s a religious building dedicated to another power.
Therefore, this spiritual scepter of power is a counterfeit one. It represents a counterfeit religion. The spiritual dominion that Satan intends to exert over the world will be a counterfeit and will be imposed through spiritual deception.
By these two acts Satan is affirming that his dominion is complete. He controls the territory – planet earth and the subjects – mankind. He stands in defiance of God. When Satan is judged, he’ll be accused of the highest treason against God’s law and government.
Satan’s move also signals an acceleration of the Great Controversy between God and Satan which will now move more quickly toward its conclusion.
Prophetic Implication #3:
The papacy’s deadly wound is about to be healed. The same process that led to the establishment of the papal power will also restore that power. At the end of that process, as during the Dark Ages, the pope will be invited to come in and take over.
What was the process that led to the pope’s supremacy in Europe? It’s a historical pattern in the ascension of the papacy where “that which hinders must be removed”.
The apostle Paul tells us about this in 2 Thessalonians 2:6-8: “6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming”.
In the days of the apostle Paul, the Roman Emperor hindered or restrained the anti-christ power from expressing itself. In the year 330, many years after Paul’s death, the Roman Emperor decided to move his throne, and therefore the seat of the Roman Empire, to Constantinople. This created a vacuum in Western Europe which the pope hastened to fill. The pope was qualified and competent to fill that gap. He’d built up an impressive administrative structure.
Two hundred years later, in its quest for total supremacy over Europe, the papacy completely exterminated three Aryan tribes. These tribes were Christian but didn’t accept the Catholic doctrine of papal supremacy. Therefore, they needed to be removed. Once these three tribes were removed we consider the papal supremacy to be fully established in Europe. This is why we Adventists use the year 538 as the beginning of the 1260 years of papal rule.
We’ll see in a moment that once again, there’s a power today that restrains the papacy from occupying the place of world dominion that’s prophesied in the Bible.
Prophetic Implication #4: In a very short time, we shall see the collapse of the US and a national revolution in America
The US is a very divided nation at this point. NBC conducted a survey that showed that 80% of Americans feel that the US is very divided.
The US today is very polarized. It’s polarized on race, class, economics, religious beliefs, political affiliation, and even on gender inclination.
Jesus told us that a nation divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against itself cannot stand (Matthew 12:25).
The first condition that weakened the Roman empire was division. The relocation of the Roman Empire throne to Constantinople weakened the empire by creating a gap in the Western part of the empire.
The Jesuit army, the Jesuit order, is exacerbating the divisions and polarizations in America. They are wise. They’ve corrupted their wisdom. They understand this dynamic of division weakening a nation. They’re hard at work to create tension in America to the point where it will cause the nation to collapse.
The financial and economic collapse is imminent. The US would collapse of its own weight but the Jesuits are working to accelerate the process. The total collapse will happen in our generation.
The US is a corporation quoted on Dun and Bradstreet. Each US state is also a corporation quoted on Dun and Bradsteet. America is a corporation. It’s not a free country. America belongs to the bankers: Rothschilds and others.
The US debt has spiraled out of control. It currently exceeds $22 Trillion and that doesn’t include future liabilities like Social Security and Medicare. If we include those, the debt is around $50 Trillion.
The only thing holding up the US economy is the four angels that the Lord has holding back the four winds of strife. Once the winds are loosed, all hell will also break loose. The US empire will collapse. By its collapse, the US will stand in agreement with France, where the Yellow Vests popular insurrection movement is pushing all the buttons of the current established world order. The Yellow Vests uprising is about establishing a new order in France.
Together the US and France, two witnesses standing in agreement, will give birth to a New World Order. It will emerge out of their respective revolutionary processes. The two witnesses in agreement cause it to be established.
This New World Order will re-unite church and state. In the 18th Century new world order, they completely separated church and state. In the New World Order of the 21st Century there’ll be a total reversal of that. Church and state will be reunited under a single leader who will head up both the church (One World Religion) and the state (One World Government), and that leader is the pope.
Prophetic Implication #5: Satan is using persecution and repression to create and catalyze a false revival.
Satan has learned a lot. He’s been devising strategies against mankind for nearly 6000 years now. You learn a lot in that time if you don’t sleep and work constantly toward the same goal of defeating mankind. Satan understands the power of persecution.
He understood during the Dark Ages that persecution is like spreading seeds for Christianity. In fact, Christianity grew as a result of the persecution and martyrdom of God’s people.
Now Satan is using this principle that persecution raises more saints in a very crafty and subtle way. The persecution is soft, not yet cruel. He’s using the mechanism of persecution to create a false revival in both France and America.
The burning of Notre Dame was the continuation of a series of vandalizations and desecrations that’s been occurring in France since the beginning of this year. Catholic churches and cathedrals are being attacked in this way, amidst a climate of national crisis and turmoil. This persecution is awakening a false revival. It creates a sense of religious fervor and excitement among French Catholics.
There are about 6 Million Catholics in France, roughly 10% of the overall population of just over 60 Million French people. Even though France is a very secular country, they view Catholicism as part of the French culture and tradition. Many French people, not only Catholics, are feeling attacked int heir Christianity and culture. This is bringing about a false revival.
What’s happening in America in this regard? This principle of persecution being applied to generate revival is also being manifested in the US, but in a very different way. Donald Trump is giving voice to the Evangelicals. In multiple public declarations Trump has stated that he wants to give back to the Evangelicals their voice.
A lot of people, especially outside the US, don’t understand that Donald Trump is in office because of the Christian vote. It was Christians who elected Donald Trump. He garnered 80% of the Evangelical vote and 55% of the Catholic vote. Together that adds up to nearly 1/3 of the total American electorate.
Christians were looking for an alternative to all the hostility towards Christians. There’s a lot of discrimination against Christians right now. They’re accused of being “haters”, of undermining the fabric of modern America. They’re considered weird and looked upon with suspicion.
Christians had had it. They were tired of that anti-Christian climate. They were looking for an alternative. The only who seemed interested in their cause was Donald Trump.
Trump has been pretty faithfully keeping his electoral promises to the Evangelicals. In so doing, he’s moving forward in leaps and bounds to unite church and state. He’s taken a number of measures: naming conservative judges to the open positions in the US court system (100+ conservative judges names). He prohibited transgenders in the Army. Donald Trump also set up a commission on religious liberty. He’s made efforts to repeal the Johnson Amendment but hasn’t quite succeeded yet.
A couple of things to highlight: Donald Trump assembled an Evangelical Counsel, they advise and counsel him, spiritually they coach and mentor him. He meets with them officially every month, but meets with them unofficially very often. There always seems to be some Evangelical leader coming or going from the White House. Their influence can be clearly seen in Trump’s decision to relocate the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The Evangelicals have very privileged access to the White House, to the President’s Office and to the President himself.
Clearly this is trending towards the image of the beast. The state, united with the Protestant church, is the false prophet will build a new government model on the same basis as the Vatican: a religious nation-state ruled by a single ruler who heads up both church and state. This is the direction that America is headed in. Trump is moving full speed ahead with this strategy.
Prophetic Implication #6: The burning of Notre Dame is both a preview and a warning of the judgment to come upon spiritual Babylon (Rome)
Revelation 17:1-2 says: “1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”
Remember what we said at the beginning of this study: Notre Dame sits right in the center of Paris, in the middle of the River Seine. Notre Dame Cathedral was built on an ancient pagan worship site. It had also been dedicated to another power during the French Revolution. As it sits on the Ile de la Cité on the River Seine it causes the river to divide into two streams. Notre Dame is a queenly structure that sits on two waters.
The burning of Notre Dame is a preview of the burning, the judgment by fire, of spiritual Babylon. For us, it’s a preview. For Rome, it’s a warning. It doesn’t matter if it’s Satan who burned Notre Dame. God allows these things to happen but He has a message and a purpose to allow it. One of the purposes of God in allowing this cathedral to burn down is that it’s a warning to spiritual Babylon of her impending destruction by fire if she doesn’t repent.
Sadly we know that the Lord said to the Church of Thyatira (which represents spiritual Babylon) in Revelation 2: “I gave her time to repent, yet she repented not”.
“4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities” (Revelation 18:4-5). This is a very serious warning to God’s people, and to Babylon herself.
Prophetic Implication #7: Donald Trump is the trumpet of God
Donald Trump’s name is not a coincidence. Rather, it has prophetic significance for us. The Lord God sets up kings and removes kings. Donald Trump is an announcement, a message and a messenger at the same time.
Please don’t misunderstand what I’m saying. I’m not saying that Donald Trump is God’s anointed. I’m NOT saying that Donald Trump is God’s anointed.
What I am saying is that God is using Donald Trump as a messenger. God is God and has license to use whoever He will as a messenger to convey whatever truths He has for His people or for the world.
Let’s look at the three main functions of the trumpet in the Bible:
- The trumpet announces war, an invasion or an enemy attack. Therefore it was a warning to God’s people to muster so that they could defend themselves against the impending danger.
- The trumpet announces imminent judgment. If you think about the Feast of Trumpets, the trumpet was blown ten days before the day of judgment, the Feast of the Day of Atonement.
- The trumpet is a call to God’s people to muster, to congregate, to assemble, to advance in unity and to go forth to the victory. Think of Jericho. The Lord sent His people forward, He promised them the victory. They circled the city seven times with the blowing of trumpets. Not a voice or shout was to be heard, only the trumpets would blow. The last day they circled the city seven times. The last time they blew the trumpets with shouts of victory. The city walls fell and God’s people took the city.
What This Means for the Last Generation
Donald Trump announces judgment by the sword for America. America will soon fill the cup of her iniquity. She will be judged by God and will receive judgment by the sword, which means war.
Donald Trump also announces the judgment of the living. The judgment of the living has its “seat” or beginning in the US, because it’s the US National Sunday Law that triggers the process of the judgment of the living.
The judgment of the dead has been going on since 1844. The event that will signal the beginning of the judgment of the living is the National Sunday Law. Trump is the trumpet that announces the proximity of this judgment, first to America and then to the world. The National Sunday Law in the US marks the beginning of the judgment of the living.
Trump is a “messenger” that’s telling God’s people: I’ve given you a very serious mandate and entrusted you with a very solemn responsibility. You must go forth, preaching the Three Angels’ Messages. You must warn the world that the hour of His judgment is come. You must warn the world that Babylon is falling. You must warn the world not to take the mark of the beast and not to accept Sunday, the mark of Rome’s ecclesiastical authority. Instead, show your allegiance to God by taking the seal of God, which is Sabbath worship.
We said earlier that, in perfect symmetry, the world started with an obedience test and the world ended with an obedience test. This obedience test is imminent. It’s almost upon us. Most of the conditions for the imposition of the National Sunday Law are already in place. The unholy alliance of the dragon, the beast and the false prophet is on the world stage already and busily working towards their unholy goal.
What’s missing is for God’s people to get ready. This is what the Lord is calling us to do. We need to prepare for the coming of the National Sunday Law.
The Lord will not allow the Sunday Law test to be brought upon the world scene until His people are ready. God wants us to get ready. He wants us to pass this test. He wants to seal us for His kingdom for all eternity.
The Lord is looking for a people who will stand true to Him during this hour of trial. It will be very rough. But God and His holy angels will be with us. They will help us to stand spotless, blameless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy (Jude 1:24). We’ll vindicate the character of God. We’ll be able to demonstrate to the entire universe, in our flesh, that there’s a people who’ve gained the victory over sin, the victory over the beast, the victory over the dragon. “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death” (Revelation 12:11).
This is what the Lord is waiting for. This is the call. This is the message. This is the invitation. This is why the trumpet is blowing.
Each one of us needs to prepare, to be a vessel for God’s Holy Spirit. We need to be ready to receive that Latter Rain. We need to be poised to take the Loud Cry to the entire world, filled with the glory of the angel of Revelation 18 which symbolizes God’s Holy Spirit.
God’s Spirit will be poured out in all of His power, in all of the fullness of the measure of who He is. As much as we can receive of God’s Spirit without being consumed, shall be given to us. We will receive according to the measure of our preparedness to receive.
This is such a high calling. I can’t think of anything more important right now that should fill our minds, our thoughts, that should occupy our plans and strategies for daily living, that should occupy every moment of conscious awareness. We should be focused on this goal of passing the eternal test, of overcoming sin, of being prepared to confess the Lord Jesus with our mouths and with our lives, perfect witnesses before God and before the universe.
We need to be ready to follow the Lamb wherever He goes. This is the calling. This is why the trumpet is blowing. God is giving us a beautiful opportunity to understand these things, that one day we may stand on that precious sea of glass, singing the song of Moses and the Lamb, the song of our experience, casting our crowns at the feet of Him who saved us.
