In this three-part podcast, Marla Ilona presents the biblical, historical and prophetic evidence that the nations of the world will unite around the climate crisis and hand over the scepter of power to the pope. He will soon become One World Leader of the New World Order.
This podcast is a powerful study on how the climate crisis is going to propel us into the outcomes prophesied in the books of Daniel and Revelation: the Sunday Law, the mark of the beast, the death decree against God’s people, and our final deliverance by the Lord Jesus Christ. Be sure to also listen to Part 2 and Part 3 of the Climate Crisis Series.
Four generations have passed since the Adventist Pioneers founded the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In each generation there have been those who cried “The bridegroom is coming! The bridegroom is coming!”. For four generations, Adventists have been expecting a National Sunday Law to be passed in the United States. Adventists knew that law is the signal that the end is nearly upon us. And in every generation voices have been raised to say “it’s coming, it’s here”. But nothing happened, so there’s a feeling of skepticism and perhaps weariness among many Adventists. As a result, many have lost their fire, thinking it still won’t be for a long time.
Brothers and sisters, I don’t ever want to be in the position to cry wolf. But I do believe – after much research and praying for the Holy Spirit’s leading – that we’re about to experience all the final events that have been prophesied unfold in rapid succession until Jesus’ return. In today’s study, I’m going to walk you through the evidence that gives me that feeling of certainty.
The Trojan Horse
In our last study on the timelines of Daniel 12, we studied that one of those three prophetic timelines, the 1335-Day Prophecy, is triggered by the passing of the National Sunday Law in the United States.
The climate crisis is the Trojan Horse that will bring the Sunday Law first to the United States and shortly afterwards to the world.
Are you familiar with that expression, the Trojan horse? There’s a fascinating story behind this horse. In antiquity, the Greeks were trying to penetrate the fortress city of Troy. They had sieged the city for 10 years (probably an exaggeration) but still couldn’t get in.
So the Greeks devised a cunning stratagem. They built this enormous wooden horse which in reality was a war machine. They hid a small group of elite soldiers inside the horse and placed it at the city gate. The rest of the Greek army sailed off in their ships.
When the Trojans saw the horse, they thought it was a symbol of victory. They pulled the horse through the gate into the city as a war trophy. The whole city came to admire the huge wooden horse. That night, the Greek army sailed back to Troy in their ships. The small group of elite warriors that were hidden inside the horse came out and opened the city gates. The Greek army flooded in and destroyed the city of Troy. From that experience …
The expression “a Trojan horse” therefore means any trick or stratagem that allows an enemy to penetrate a securely protected place.
This is exactly what will happen very soon in the United States. The “securely protected place” is our US Constitution and Bill of Rights and the legislation based on that Constitution. For several centuries both have been jealously guarded by our judicial system. Its job is to ensure that the laws of the land are written in the spirit of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.
However, the enemies of the Lord and of His people are working tirelessly to subvert the Constitution and the First Amendment. They want to take us back to a feudal system that merges state and religion. Their plan is to introduce a National Sunday Law in the guise of a day of rest for the planet.
Briefly, what’s happening is that the House of Representatives introduced a bill of law called Climate Action Now. The two main clauses in this bill are (below are excerpts from the bill):
– No funds are authorized to be appropriated, obligated, or expended to take any action to advance the withdrawal of the United States from the Paris Agreement. This is to dissuade President Trump from exiting the Paris Climate Agreement, which in any event would only be possible from November 2020.
– Not later than 120 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the President shall develop and submit to the appropriate congressional committees and make available to the public a plan for the United States to meet its nationally determined contribution under the Paris Agreement. For more details on the plan I’m embedding the link to the bills in the show notes for today’s podcast.
(1) how the United States will achieve an economy-wide target of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 26 to 28 percent below its 2005 level by 2025; and
(2) how the United States will use the Paris Agreement’s transparency provisions to confirm that other parties to the Agreement with major economies are fulfilling their announced contributions to the Agreement.
This bill was passed in the House of Representatives on May 2, 2019. It was introduced to the Senate on June 5, 2019 under the name “International Climate Accountability Act” and is waiting for review which would occur any time after the August recess.
Here are the links f you’d like to learn more about these two bills of law:
The climate issue is – without a shadow of a doubt – the Trojan horse that will bring in the Sunday law. The bill we just discussed is NOT a proposal for a Sunday Law. But we can safely expect that within the President’s action plan to lower greenhouse gas emissions to the committed level there will be, either in the first round or in a subsequent round, a US National Sunday Law, the cornerstone of the Vatican’s climate change strategy.
Let’s do a quick recap of certain key biblical concepts and historical events so that we have a frame of reference to understand and evaluate current events.
The Scepter of Power
What lies at the core of the great controversy between God and Satan is the scepter of power. Let’s read from Psalm 45:6: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.”
All authority and power emanate from the throne of God. God is the ultimate source of authority and power. He often delegates authority to others, to govern certain territories for example.
Satan is fighting over the scepter of power that emanates from the throne of God, but he’s only interested in the scepter of power and authority. He’s not interested in the essence of God’s government, which is based on a just law where justice is tempered by mercy.
In heaven, Satan tried to wrest the scepter of power from the Lord through lies and deceptions. But he and his fallen angels were cast out of heaven as we read in Revelation 12:7-9. This is a very familiar passage to most of you: “7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”
Satan Wrests the Scepter of Power from Adam and Eve
Adam and Eve had received delegated authority from the Lord to govern the earth – Genesis 1:26. “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Satan did manage to wrest the scepter of power from Adam and Eve. Indeed, the Lord Jesus called Satan “the prince of this world” because he had managed to take possession of the scepter of power that had been handed to Adam. Through Adam’s fall Satan gained the legal right to be his master and master of his dominion, the earth.
The legal foundation for this is explained in Romans 6:16: “Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?” As a result, all mankind became Satan’s slaves and needed to be purchased for a price. Jesus paid the ransom for the fallen race.
Jesus Is the Scepter of Power
The matter of the scepter of power is actually an important theme that relates directly to Jesus and His kingship. We read in Psalm 2:7-12:
“I will declare the decree:
The Lord has said to Me,
‘You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
8 Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron;
You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ”
10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,
And you perish in the way,
When His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
This passage is telling us that when Jesus came forth from the Father He was already given the earth as His possession and the nations as His inheritance. The rod of iron is the scepter of power. Jesus would have authority over all the kings and governors of the earth.
We get a second witness in Isaiah 11:
“There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse,
And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
3 His delight is in the fear of the Lord,
And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes,
Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor,
And decide with equity for the meek of the earth;
He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,
And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins,
And faithfulness the belt of His waist.”
So according to the prophet Isaiah, Jesus Himself is the rod and the branch, both of which are symbols of the scepter of power. And unlike Satan, Jesus will judge His people with righteousness.
Now, listen how interesting what we read in Revelation 2:26-27: “26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations. 27 ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’—as I also have received from My Father.”
Jesus is doing in like manner as His Father did. He’s delegating rulership to His people. To all who overcome He will grant power over the nations.
The Race to World Power
Think of the scepter of power as a relay race, with the baton being handed over by delegation from one runner to the next.
The Bible traces the rise and fall of empires and the successive handovers of the baton in the worldly relay race. We find a very concise tracing in the Book of Daniel. As a prophet Daniel didn’t look back to the preceding kingdoms, but started the recount of kingdoms with Babylon, the world superpower at the time.
In Daniel 2, the Lord reveals to Nebuchadnezzar in a dream the succession of world kingdoms until the Kingdom of God destroys all other kingdoms and takes over the entire earth. (By the way, this is one of the most encompassing prophecies in the entire Bible). In Daniel 7, we see the same succession of world kingdoms in a vision the Lord gave the prophet. And in Daniel 11, we’re given a more detailed account of the wars between the kingdoms and their kings. Daniel 11 is a repeat and enlarge of what had been presented previously.
The Last Kingdom on Earth Before Jesus Comes
We know from the statue that Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream (described in Daniel 2) the characteristics of the last kingdom on earth before Jesus returns:
–It’s Roman (the successor of the Pagan Roman Empire represented by the legs of the statue).
–It’s a co-mingling of church and state (the clay and the iron of the feet of the statue).
–It will not achieve a full union. Instead the member nations will remain separate entities with divergent agendas, as we read in Daniel 2:43: “As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay.” When they finally do come together on a shared agenda their union will be very short-lived.
6 Bible Principles for the Study of God’s Word, History and Prophecy
Bible Principle #1: Prophecy is history written in advance
Adventists use a method of prophetic interpretation called historicism. This method is based on the fact that history, like time, is sequential. There are no jumps forward or backward, no gaps, but history unfolds in an uninterrupted flow of events.
Because God knew the end from the beginning, Jesus said to the disciples: “I tell you these things before they come to pass so that when they come to pass you may believe” (John 13:19, 14:29 and 16:4). If Jesus says it three times, this principle is really important!
Another advantage for us of this principle is that we can look to history to verify and confirm the fulfillment of prophecy. We can also look to how certain events unfolded in the past to shed light on how future prophecies might be fulfilled.
Bible Principle #2: History repeats itself
The Bible principle that history repeats itself is stated by King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 1:9: “That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun”.
By understanding and using this Bible principle we’re able to look for patterns in history. Events unfold in a certain sequence, following a certain pattern, in a certain relationship. By discerning the patterns of past events or sequences of events, or even similar patterns in the nations and rulers of the world, we’re able to extrapolate how future prophecies might be fulfilled. Given that history repeats itself, future prophetic fulfillments are likely, even sure, to follow the same pattern of past history.
This principle is hugely valuable to students of Bible prophecy, because sometimes a prophecy is given in a concise manner without much detail. The study of history helps to flesh out the details.
Bible Principle #3: “In the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established”.
This principle is such a pillar of God’s kingdom that its earthly application is a mirror of the heavenly reality. Let’s read in 1 John 5:7-8: “7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one”.
This unity or agreement between witnesses causes the thing that is said or done in agreement to be established as a heavenly or an earthly reality, and sometimes both. Let’s look at some examples:
-The very word of God is written in two books, Old Testament and New Testament. Not a coincidence. Each of these is a witness that testifies of Jesus and the Plan of Salvation for mankind.
-In the Jewish law any accusation had to be based on at least two witnesses or the accusation wasn’t valid (Deuteronomy 17:6).
Jesus reaffirmed this Bible principle in several ways in the New Testament:
-He took Peter, James and John with Him to be witnesses of great miracles such as resurrections and the transfiguration
-It gives us the legal foundation behind the power of prayer in unity. “19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:19-20).
-In evangelism, Jesus sent the disciples two by two. In Acts 11, Peter receives the instruction to take the gospel to the Gentiles. Why was that necessary, when the Lord had already anointed Paul to be His ambassador to the Gentiles? It was necessary that this Bible principle be applied. Otherwise, the gospel could not have been established in Antioch, which became the first Christian city.
Bible Principle #4: Symmetry and Parallelism
Let’s define these two terms:
Symmetry: the quality of being made up of exactly similar parts facing each other or around an axis; similarity or exact correspondence between different things.
Parallelism: consists in repeating a same structure or pattern several times, while altering one of the elements
As soon as I give you some examples you’ll see how easy this concept is.
|Genesis: in the beginning God makes man in His image and likeness||Revelation: at the end Satan makes an image to the beast|
|Genesis: the world starts with an obedience test: “You shall not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil”||Revelation: the world ends with an obedience test: “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation”.|
|First Adam – Eden Lost||Second Adam, Christ – Eden Restored|
|In heaven: During the feast of Pentecost of the year 31 AD, Jesus was in heaven being anointed by His Father as High Priest over His people||On earth: During the feast of Pentecost of the year 31 AD, the disciples in the Upper Room received the drops of oil from heaven in the form of flames of fire of God’s Holy Spirit|
Bible Principle #5: The Established Precedent
In God’s Word, as in American jurisprudence or “legal system”, we find the principle of established precedent. The word precedent means: an earlier event or action that is regarded as an example or guide to be considered in subsequent similar circumstances.
When a lawyer accepts a new case, one of the first things he or she does is to check whether there’s a legal precedent for the kind of problem they’ll be helping their client with. Have there been any similar cases presented previously? If so, what was the ruling in those cases? Does the established precedent help their case or weaken it? Let me give you a very relevant example of established precedent in sacred history:
-God’s rival in heaven was Lucifer, a covering cherub. Lucifer was close to God. He wasn’t part of God’s counsels as Jesus was, but he served the Lord and ministered to Him quite closely. We can say that Lucifer was an insider that betrayed God.
-Jesus was betrayed by Judas, one of His disciples who also was the treasurer, a position of responsibility among the twelve. Jesus also was betrayed by an insider.
-From the established precedent we can deduce that anti-christ is not a declared enemy of the Lord waging open war against Him, but is also an insider. We need to look for anti-christ inside, not outside the church.
Bible Principle #6: Contemporary Recognition of Prophetic Fulfillment
God typically veils prophecy until the time of its fulfillment. This phenomenon is called “Contemporary Recognition of Prophetic Fulfillment”. Let me give you several examples of this principle:
-Daniel was given understanding that the 70-year timeline of the Babylonian captivity, given by the prophet Jeremiah, was coming to an end.
-John the Baptist announced that the Kingdom of God was at hand as the 70-Week Prophecy was coming to an end and Jesus’ ministry was about to begin. The 70-Week Prophecy counted 490 years of probation for the Jewish nation.
-The Millerites in the 1840’s were given understanding about the 2300-Day/Year Prophecy, exactly as that prophetic timeline was coming to an end.
-The unsealing of the Book of Daniel continues and will continue until the very end of time. I shared with you how in Daniel 8 there’s a stunning revelation of how Satan is going to counterfeit Jesus’ Second Coming. That was only revealed as we approach its fulfillment. I strongly recommend that you listen to that podcast if you haven’t yet: “Satan’s War Against God’s Holy Covenant“.
These six biblical principles give us a solid grounding and a very useful methodology with which to analyze God’s word, history and end time events.
The Role of France in the Papacy’s Ascent to Power
A very important aspect to highlight that many prophecy students overlook is the role of France in the papacy’s ascent to power. Actually, France is known as “the Eldest Daughter of the Church”, referring of course to the Roman Catholic Church.
Although today France is a very atheistic and secular country, its roots are Catholic. The recent burning of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris has stirred up the French religious fervor which had been dormant for centuries, possibly since the French Revolution in 1789.
How did France become “The Eldest Daughter of the Church?” It all began with King Clovis, who ruled France around the year 500. The Franks were a Germanic tribe. Through a series of conquests, King Clovis had taken possession of a much larger territory than what is known as France today. He had taken over parts of Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Spain. Under his rulership France became an important power in Europe.
When Clovis was baptized he declared that France also was baptized and that it would become a Catholic country. This is how Catholicism made its official entry into France and she became “the eldest daughter of the church”.
300 years later, Charlemagne (in English Charles the Great) was a Frankish king who became a powerful European emperor. He cherished the vision of uniting all of the Germanic peoples with France under the Christian banner. Charlemagne waged ruthless wars against them for three decades. He ultimately achieved his goal and ruled over most of Western Europe. Charlemagne has come to be known as the Father of Europe. His support of the papacy ushered in what’s called the Holy Roman Empire.
In addition to uniting a large territory under Catholicism, Charlemagne was a zealous defender of Christianity and of the Pope. Charlemagne protected the popes and gave money and land and armies to the Christian church. As a way to acknowledge Charlemagne’s power and reinforce his relationship with the church, Pope Leo III crowned him emperor of the Romans in the year 800, at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
To this day, the leaders of the European Union share the same dream and vision Charlemagne had of a united Europe. The prestigious Charlemagne Prize is a prize awarded for work done in the service of European unification. It has been awarded annually since 1950 by the German city of Aachen in Germany where Charlemagne lived and was buried.
Pope Steps into Caesar’s Role
Listen carefully to this interesting quote from the American Catholic Quarterly Review, April 1911: “Long ages ago, when Rome through the neglect of the Western emperors was left to the mercy of the barbarous hordes, the Romans turned to one figure for aid and protection, and asked him to rule them; and thus, in this simple manner, the best title of all to kingly right, commenced the temporal sovereignty of the Popes. And meekly stepping to the throne of Caesar, the Vicar of Christ took up the scepter to which the emperors and kings of Europe were to bow in reverence through so many ages.” (James P. Conroy, American Catholic Quarterly Review, April, 1911).
Shortly we’ll see how in our generation the Pope will once again be handed the scepter of power, but this time to reign over the entire world.
(For a more detailed analysis of the prophetic relationship between France and the United States, listen to the podcast “US and France in Bible Prophecy“).
France giveth, France taketh away
Fast forward to 1789, the year when the French revolution started. The French people had had it with the French national monarchy.
The people revolted against the high taxes and the French economic crisis, which was aggravated by French support of the American Revolution with money and troops. Most of the nobles and Catholic clergy were tax exempt. Therefore, the heavy burden of keeping the French economy afloat fell primarily on the people. Store this in a corner of your mind because something similar is happening in France today as we’ll see, and will be relevant for the establishment of the New World Order. The anger had built up over several years of bad harvests and perceived financial mismanagement by the king.
France: Model of the Secular Constitutional Republic
During 1789, the first year of the Revolution, the Bastille was attacked in July and the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen was passed in August. Also in August 1789 France abolished feudalism and the old rules and privileges left over from the Old Regime to establish itself as a constitutional republic. France also repudiated the Catholic Church and the clergy and removed their privileges.
In doing all of these things, France became the model for the modern constitutional republic which has been the almost universal mode of government until now. This model is now being undermined by globalism and is on the verge of giving way to the New World Order. It’s very important that we understand the role that France played in establishing the republican world order, because in our generation France is again playing a key role in helping to constitute the New World Order.
Back to the Catholic Church. As a demonstration of the abolishment of feudalism and the establishment of the new regime, Napoleon Bonaparte ordered one of his generals to march into Rome and seize the pope himself. The pope was taken into captivity, thus fulfilling the prophecy in Revelation 13:10: 10 “He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword.”
That was the deadly wound to the head of the anti-christ beast, given in 1798. At that point, the papacy lost all of its secular or temporal power. It wasn’t until the Lateran Treaty signed with Mussolini in 1929 that the papacy regained recognition of Vatican State, the Holy See, as an independent state governed by the pope. This treaty began the process of healing the deadly wound – healing is a process. The wound isn’t completely healed yet, but it’s about to be.
France Helps to Fulfill Prophecy
We see therefore how France, the country that helped to enthrone the pope as supreme monarch over Europe, is the same country that dethroned the pope and made him a prisoner of the French Republic, is the same country that will contribute heavily to the healing of the wound in our generation. By applying the Bible principle of symmetry and parallelism we can clearly discern the historical pattern.
History will repeat itself. By the principle of symmetry and parallelism, France will play a key role in the resurgence of the papacy as the One World Leader at the head of both One World Government and One World Religion.
The question is, HOW? How will France contribute to the scepter of power being handed to the pope to rule over the entire world, as is prophesied in the books of Daniel and Revelation? What will be the part of the United States in this prophetic fulfillment? And how does climate change play into this unfolding?
We’ll be answering those questions in Part 2 of this study. Please make sure to come back and join me soon! God bless you.
