Intermittent Fasting

Have the children of the world become wiser than the children of light?

I came upon this YouTube video where this young lady, Chloé Kian, talks about how she started to do intermittent fasting and the benefits she’s getting from it.

Intermittent Fasting is a big trend right now. The whole world – dietitians, athletes, health enthusiasts, movie stars – are jumping on it as a way to improve their health, performance and appearance.

The Bible, a book whose early texts were written around 3500 B.C., offers us many real testimonies of the power of fasting. I summarized some of the benefits of fasting in this blog post called Fasting: A Supernatural Process.

Indeed, fasting has many benefits: physical, emotional, mental and especially spiritual. It’s interesting that Chloé Kian states that her main motivation to do intermittent fasting and the key benefit she’s getting from it is mental clarity.

Having the proper diet is extremely critical in our spiritual walk with God. Our body is a temple of God’s Holy Spirit(1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We will continuously struggle if we indulge the lusts of the flesh, and appetite is one of those lusts. The cleaner our diet, the clearer our mind is to receive God’s instruction and wisdom, and to hear and obey His word.

Listen to “Diet and Spirituality” or “The Genesis Diet” for more insight. More recently, in our series of Bible studies on the Book of Daniel, we learned two critical lessons about God’s diet:

In other words, the Genesis diet can help preserve us from the terrible temptation of taking the mark of the beast and its curses, the worst of which is eternal damnation. The Genesis diet can help prepare us to receive the seal of God and His Holy Spirit when He sends the latter rain upon His remnant church.

And yet, God’s people are backsliding: sinning by eating flesh with the blood (Acts 15:28) and animal fat (Leviticus 3:17), and totally disregarding the spirit of prophecy’s Counsels on Health and Diet. Have the children of the world become wiser than the children of light? (Luke 16:8)
